Colonial Behavioral Health Consolidates Chidren's Services

Colonial Behavioral Health has moved all its children’s services operations to one central location as of Tuesday.

CBH consolidated its Child and Adolescent Services into one new building, located at 921 Capitol Landing Road, to help better serve local children and families, according to a CBH spokeswoman. Previously, Child and Adolescent Services had been spread across several locations.

Greater Williamsburg Child Assessment Center (GWCAC) is also located in the new building, while the CBH administrative offices have moved to McLaws Circle.

Colonial Behavioral Health is the local Community Services Board, an organization that helps people affected by mental illness, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse issues. The GWCAC is a partnership between the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation, CBH and the Children’s Behavioral Health initiative Advisory Group. It addresses children’s behavioral health issues in the Triangle.

The Child and Adolescent Services program still offers outpatient therapy, case management, intensive in-home services, psychiatric services, adolescent substance abuse services, and prevention programs to locals. Services for children and adolescents are also still available at the CBH Grafton office.

Visit the CBH website for more information about the organization’s programs and mission.
