Flu Vaccine Available Monday

Flu vaccines are available at the Peninsula Health District beginning Monday. The seasonal influenza vaccine is available at the Immunization Clinic of the Peninsula Health Center in Newport News.

The flu shot costs $30. The Health Department will bill Medicare Part B. Other insurances may be accepted.

To schedule an appointment, please call (757) 594-7069, Monday through Thursday, between 8 a.m. and noon. Appointments will be scheduled for between 8 to 10 a.m. or 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Health Director David Trump said the flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over the age of six months. He recommends new parents or parents-to-be get the flu vaccine to help shield infants from the flu.
