Sales Tax Holiday on Energy Efficient Products Starts Friday

salestaxholidayThe annual state sales tax holiday on Energy Star and WaterSense products starts Friday.

Each year, the state offers a sales tax holiday on certain energy and water efficient appliances and products, so long as they are for non-commercial use and cost $2,500 or less.

The exemption includes dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, ceiling fans, compact fluorescent bulbs, and programmable thermostats that have the Energy Star seal. WaterSense items that qualify include bathroom sink faucets, faucet accessories and toilets.

The four-day holiday begins Friday and ends Monday.

For details, visit the state Department of Taxation website.
