Man Steals Golf Clubs from StoreBy Sam Thrift Tuesday, October 11, 2011 The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who stole hundreds of dollars worth of golf clubs on Sept. 30 from the International Golf Discount located in the Kiln Creek Shopping Center in the 1200 block of Route 17.The male suspect entered the store around 5:30 p.m., picked up several clubs and headed towards the door. Before exiting the store, the suspect turned around and made a motion to his waistband, inferring that he had a gun, according to Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office. He left the shopping center in a newer model white pick-up truck. The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, 30 to 35 years old and 160 to 180 pounds. He wore a white shirt with horizontal stripes and a FootJoy logo (see accompanying photo) on the back, jeans and a skater-style baseball cap.
