York Crime Line: Burglary Attempts May Be RelatedBy Sam Thrift Tuesday, November 15, 2011 The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office needs information on the crimes listed below. Although the suspect has never been seen, the police believe the crimes are connected.In the middle of the night on Oct. 12 an unknown suspect entered a home through a window in the 100 block of Huntington Drive. The suspect entered the bedroom while the homeowner was asleep and stole jewelry. The homeowner did not realize someone had broken in until the next morning. On the morning of Oct. 25 a resident in the 1300 block of Penniman Road heard a loud noise like someone attempting to get into the house. When the resident yelled out the suspect left. Police confirmed someone had attempted to break into the house. Around 10 p.m. on Oct 27 a suspect broke the glass on a back door of a residence located in the 300 block of Bypass Road while the resident was home. The suspect did not get into the home. Someone unsuccessfully attempted to break into a home located in the 1400 block of Government Road around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 while the resident was home. Sometime between Nov. 4 and 5 a suspect broke into a house in the 1200 block of Penniman Road while the resident was not home. Jewelry was stolen from this residence. On the morning of Nov. 4, the unknown suspect broke into a house in the 100 block of Lakeshead Drive while the residents were not home and stole jewelry.
