Steve Kast, the president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, said he is thrilled about the opening of a store that will benefit children and his organization in so many ways. “The Thrift Store will enable the community to help us and others by recycling items they no longer need or use,” Kast said. “Income generated by the Thrift Store will go directly into the youth development programs at our fifteen Club sites." Kast said the store will also help the community by providing entry-level job training for teens in their workforce development program. “This initiative is a win-win-win ... for our youth, the community, and our organization,” he said. Thrift Store manager Donna Grubbs invites the community to visit, donate items, and shop, promising that visitors will find a great variety of household goods, clothing and unique items. “Shoppers will enjoy a boutique experience with yard sale prices,” Grubbs said. The manager wanted to remind residents of York County to consider the new Thrift Store when disposing of items they no longer use. “Please don’t throw away a chance to help change the life of a young person,” she said in the press release announcing the store's opening. “You can help our kids and help yourself - of course, your donation is tax deductible.” For more information on the Boys & Girls Clubs Thrift Store or Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, visit www.bagclub.com.http://www.bagclub.com |
