Twelve familiar faces will be summoning their inner Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers when they compete in the 2012 edition of “Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars.”

The organizers of the event announced the line-up for the performance, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Virginia Peninsula and Literacy for Life at the Rita Welsh Adult Learning Center, on Monday. The dancers include community leaders, business owners and government workers.

The dancers will be paired with more experienced teachers who will choreograph the routines and perform with their partners in the show, scheduled for March 3. The dancers are:

• Lance Pedigo, one of the leaders of Colonial Williamsburg’s Fifes and Drums and also a member of the Celtic band Poisoned Dwarf.

• Dr. Ann Marie DeFiglio-Campolattaro, of the Yorktown Family Practice of TPMG.

• Scott Grafton, owner of Iron-Bound Fitness and Gym in New Town.

• Mary Johnston, a long-time teacher at Walsingham Academy.

• Bob Graves, president of Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.

• Mary Beth Gibson, executive director and co-founder of Beyond Boobs! breast health support group.

• Scott Wise, a former James Blair Middle School teacher and owner/partner in University Management, Inc., a real estate development and management company.

• Tiffany Francis Reaves, of Howell Creative Group and president of Young Emerging Professionals of Williamsburg.

• Will Melton, owner of Computer Concepts of New Town.

• Barbara Watson, longtime Community Service Assistant Manager for James City County.

• Scott Zimmerman, owner of Conscientious Carpet Care and longtime Williamsburg Kiwanis Club leader.

• Darryl Wynne, New Town branch manager of TowneBank.

The dancers will train with professionals from four local studios. The professionals include: Megan Van Guilder, Lorna Williams and Jerome Mester of Artinspired Studio One NN in York County; Steve Kirvan and Denise Ridley of 7 Cities Ballroom in James City County; Cindy Norge, Woody Denmon and Elisabeth Tarodi of Country Bootleggers Dance Studio in York County; and “Mr. Z” Rick Zilonka of Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Virginia Beach.

The event will be on March 3, 2012 at Phi Beta Kappa Hall at the College of William and Mary. Fans are encouraged to vote for a pre-performance favorite by visiting Williamsburg Stars, where every dollar donated is counted as a vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a special award at the March show.

Tickets, including VIP passes to a pre-show reception with the stars, will go on sale soon.

What a great fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Virginia Peninsula and Literacy for Life at the Rita Welsh Adult Learning Center - two great organizations that makes life better for so many people. Will have to vote for Tiffany Reaves - she will be dancing her socks off, smiling and entertaining all with all her heart and soul.

"Stars" is a fun - and a great fundraiser for two life-changing organizations. We'll be there to cheer on Tiffany Reaves (and the rest of these nice folks as well.)
