City Police Seek NN Man in Triple Shooting

Williamsburg police are looking for a 31-year-old Newport News man for an early morning shooting that injured three people on Sunday in the 300 block of York Street in the City of Williamsburg.

Tyshaun Lenard Thomas, who resides in the 400 block of Savage Drive in Newport News, has been charged with two counts each of maiming and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police responded to an emergency call in the area around 1:31 a.m. to find three people who had been injured in a shooting, which happened in front of a hotel.

All of the injured were transported to Sentara Hospital in Williamsburg for treatment of their wounds. Two of the three were treated and released as of 8:30 a.m.; the third victim was transferred to Sentara Norfolk General for treatment of a serious head injury, where he is still under hospital care.

All three victims were adult males.

On Sunday Major Greg Riley said the incident was under investigation, and police had not yet determined what caused it.
