Auto Shop to Open New LocationBy Desiree Parker Wednesday, December 28, 2011 American Pride Automotive plans to add an additional location in James City County. The business submitted a special use application for an auto service and sales location at 7793 Richmond Road, at the former Pop’s Marine location beside Toano Middle School. The building on the parcel is roughly 5,000 square feet.American Pride Automotive currently has two locations; the original site on George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown and a second location along Airport Road in the old John Deere building. According to the company's website, the business expects to open its third location in spring 2012. The application is expected to go before the Planning Commission on Jan. 4. The commission meets at 7 p.m. in Building F of the county government complex on Mounts Bay Road.
