Car Passenger Injured in Collision with York School Bus

One person was sent to the hospital after a car collided with a York County High School bus with no passengers on Cook Road around 3 p.m. today.

A bus with no students and a vehicle with two individuals collided around 2:52 p.m., according to a York-Poquoson officer on the scene. The passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital following the accident. The officer said the injuries were not life-threatening.

The two individuals didn’t appear to be students, according to the police. Virginia State Police are currently investigating the accident.

York County Schools spokesperson Betsy Overkamp-Smith said the school bus sustained damage, but the administration does not have a damage cost estimate yet.
