Ben Kweller to Open Charter Day Concert

Singer and songwriter Ben Kweller will open for Third Eye Blind at William and Mary’s Charter Day concert on Feb. 4.

Kweller began his music career as a teen in the early ’90s with the band Radish. In 2002, he released his solo album, “Sha Sha,” which included the popular single, “Wasted & Ready.” The following year, he toured Australia with Ben Folds and Ben Lee as The Bens, producing a four-song EP. Since then, he’s collaborated with Guster and toured with Death Cab for Cutie. His fifth studio album, “Go Fly a Kite,” is expected to be released in February.

Third Eye Blind will headline the concert. The band, which formed in the early ’90s, is best known for hits “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper” and “How’s It Gonna Be.” Their fourth studio album, “Ursa Major,” was released in 2009.

The Charter Day concert will begin at 8 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Kaplan Arena at William and Mary Hall. Tickets are $15 with a valid William and Mary ID (limit one per ID) and $25 for the general public. Ticket prices will increase $5 on the day of the show. Tickets are available here.
