Construction Begins at Merchants Square

Construction projects are underway at Merchants Square, including work on the future DOG Street Pub and The College of William and Mary Bookstore.

At the corner of North Henry and Duke of Gloucester Streets, workers are renovating the former SunTrust Bank Building to become the DOG Street Pub. The restaurant, owned by Blue Talon’s Chef David Everett, will offer a variety of casual dishes and beers, inspired by traditional English pubs.

Across the street, the College of William and Mary Bookstore is undergoing a complete interior renovation, including an expanded café and a technology store. The renovation also includes the installation of an escalator connecting the two floors. The bookstore will remain open throughout the renovation.

Both projects are expected to be completed by April.
