Theresa Redd Named Interim Principal at JamestownBy Amber Lester Kennedy Friday, January 20, 2012 Jamestown High School will now be led by Interim Principal Theresa Redd, following the resignation of Parke Land last week for health reasons. Redd will be the second interim principal at Jamestown this year. Land filled when the previous principal, Chuck Wagner, left last spring to become assistant superintendent of instruction for Gloucester Public Schools. Redd served as principal at Toano Middle School from 2007 to 2010, when she became the school division’s Social Studies Coordinator. “During this transitional time at Jamestown High School, we needed a leader who understands our current issues and who could continue to provide steady leadership as seamlessly as possible,” said Superintendent Steve Constantino. “As we continue our search for a permanent principal, I am confident that Ms. Redd will provide that leadership.” Redd came to WJCC from Loudon County Public Schools, where she served as a middle school principal for five years. She also served for more than 18 years as a principal and teacher in the West Point Public School Division, four and a half years as principal of a middle school in Spotsylvania Public Schools and four years with the Virginia Department of Education. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the College of William and Mary. |
