Community Leadership Service Class Now Recruiting

Recruitment has begun for the Community Leadership Service Class of 2012, a program that gives retirees and/or future retirees a broader understanding of the Historic Triangle.

The program, sponsored by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance, encourages its participants to accept volunteer leadership roles in the community. It is a companion program to the Leadership Historic Triangle (LHT) initiative.

CLS participants attend 11 day-long sessions, during which they learn about the inner workings of the area and meet with local leaders. The CLS program has graduated three classes of volunteers now involved in the community. One of the classes created a website called Volunteer Williamsburg that matches nonprofits with volunteers, based on their needs and the volunteers’ skill sets.

:-)
CLS is one of the best resources for any retirees just moving to Williamsburg. The people are interesting and interested. It's a great way to quickly learn all about how things work (or don't) here in Greater Williamsburg.
