Passes Now Required at Skate Park James City County has made several changes to the operation of its Skate Park, going into effect on July 5. Starting Tuesday, the park will be subject to seasonal operating hours. From July 5-Sept. 5, the park will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. All participants must obtain a pass to use the Skate Park. The passes are free for county and city residents, but a replacement pass costs $10. Non-residents can either purchase a day pass for $5 or a seasonal pass for $35. The Skate Park is adjacent to the James City/Williamsburg Community Center on Longhill Road. Passes can be purchased at the center starting July 5. For more information about the Skate Park, click here. Clean Business Forum Planned for July 19 The James City Clean County Commission will host the Virginia Peninsula Clean Business Forum at 8:30 a.m. on July 19 at Colonial Heritage Club. Keith Denny and Matt Michenfelder – of the James City County Office of Housing and Community Development – will speak on residential energy efficiency opportunities for homeowners and businesses. At the same forum, Clean Business Award winners from the four partner communities – James City County, Newport News, York County and Hampton – will be recognized. The event is open to the public and registration is $12, which includes a full breakfast. The registration deadline is July 14; forms can be found online here.
