JCC Notebook: JCSA Moves Meeting Location, New Planning Commissioner AppointedBy Desiree Parker Saturday, August 20, 2011
JCSA Community Meeting Moved to New Location The location for the James City Service Authority (JCSA) community meeting to review the Hampton Roads Regional Water Supply Plan has changed. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 31 in Building C at the James City County Government Center at 101 Mounts Bay Road. The Hampton Roads Regional Water Supply Plan was prepared by the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission on behalf of the local governing bodies it serves. The plan was developed as a response to a state requirement that all local governments prepare and submit a water supply plan to the Department of Environmental Quality. The legislation also requires the plan establish a process and criteria that local governments must use in the development of local or regional water supply plans. The community meeting will focus on the Peninsula portion of the plan, more specifically the projected water needs of James City County. A paper copy of the plan is available for viewing at the James City County Government Center in Building E. Read a July story about the region’s water usage here.
