RSVP Today for EDA Lunch Get your RSVP in today for the Economic Development Authority’s 29th Business Roundtable on Feb. 14. The lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. at Stephano’s on South Henry Street. Kathy Owens, owner of Beach Development Group, and Radlyn Mendoza, of Gardner and Mendoza Attorneys at Law, will speak about foreign direct investment through the EB-5 program, a visa for immigrant investors. The meal will be buffet style, with cheese and pepperoni pizza, salad, spaghetti and marinara, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, cookies and fountain drinks. The lunch costs $13, including tax and gratuity, with checks made payable to Stephano’s. The fee is due if a cancellation is not made within 24 hours of the lunch. Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board Meet Next Week The Architectural Review Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the third-floor conference room at the Municipal Building. The next day, the Planning Commission will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Stryker Building. Register for Youth Softball Williamsburg Parks and Recreation is currently taking registration for the girls’ youth softball league during the month of February. The leagues are offered for girls ages 6 to 15. The leagues offered this season are: • Coach Pitch: 7 and under and 9 and under • Slow Pitch: 12 and under • Fast Pitch: 10 and under, 12 and under and 15 and under Register online, in person or by mail until Feb. 29. The CecD exam was administered by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) on Jan. 28 and 29 in San Antonio. Candidates must pass a three-part, two-day exam that tests knowledge, proficiency and judgment in economic development, marketing, finance, workforce development, community development, real estate, strategic planning and management. DeWitt is now one of 1,250 active CecDs in the United States. She joined the Williamsburg staff in August 2005. |
