York Notebook: Supes Set to Choose Redistricting Option, Hold Budget MeetingBy WYDaily Staff Tuesday, March 15, 2011
At its Tuesday evening meeting, the Board of Supervisors will choose one of several redistricting options as it moves forward with the process. Staff presented the board with several options at a meeting at the beginning of the month (read a previous story here). One supervisor also requested an additional option, labeled alternatives D1 and D2, which would preserve the current southern boundary of District 1 and includes two alternative choices for shifts in Districts 4 and 5.Residents had a chance to look over the options and ask questions at three separate public meetings, and will also be able to speak at Tuesday’s meeting. Supervisors will choose a plan Tuesday that will be advertised to the public, and then they'll vote on it at a future meeting. Look here for the maps of all the various options, including D1 and D2. Budget Meeting The County will also hold a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rates this week. The meeting will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the York Hall Board Room. The proposed budget and related information can be found on the county’s website. |
