Game On: Grafton’s Moore, Mulherin Voted Bay Rivers Basketball POYBy Will Armbruster Monday, February 13, 2012 ![]() Bay Rivers basketball coaches met Sunday night to vote on the all-district teams. Those won’t be released until after the district tournaments conclude this weekend, but coaches did confirm on the two players voted this year’s Players of the Year. Neither came as much of a surprise. Grafton junior forward Elijah Moore was named the boys' top player, while Clippers’ senior point guard Rose Mulherin earned top honors on the girls’ side. Moore averaged a double-double (19 points 10 rebounds) in leading Grafton High to its first-ever boys' hoops district title after a 17-1 regular season. Mulherin, who guided the Clippers to their second-straight district crown, was the top girls’ scorer in the district at roughly 19 points per contest. Will have more on this throughout the week.
