BOYS BASKETBALL

Hampton Roads Academy 74  Bishop Sullivan 67

Chris Tang’s career-high 42 points led HRA to a win over conference foe Biship Sullivan. Tre Swinton also had a big night notching 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Jordan Gilliam finished with 11 as the Navigators improved to 13-6 (2-1 TCIS) on the season.

Williamsburg Christian Academy 51  Atlantic Shores 47

Two  big three pointers from Keenan Gasway sparked WCA to a 22-13 third quarter advantage as the Eagles (10-1) held on to take over sole possession of first place in the Metro Conference. Deron Powers scored game-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Jake Duncan chipped in with a 12-point, 6-rebound effort. Joe Treacy also pulled down 11 rebounds, and Kyle Pfeifer was a defensive force with four steals and four drawn charges.

Walsingham Academy 86  Nansemond Suffolk 40

Brandon LaRose led four Walsingham scorers in double figures with 16 points as the Trojans (15-3, 2-0 TCIS) built a 43-15 lead at halftime and cruised to an easy victory and stay perfect in the Tidewater Conference. Braden Sutton and Charles Blaha each finished with 13 points and Mitch Owens added 10 as all nine players contributed over five points.

It was the third-straight victory for the lady Navigators as they improved to TCIS-best 3-0 behind Braysia Hicks’ 21 points.

Williamsburg Christian Academy 63 Atlantic Shores Christian 22

Jalynn Ponzo posted game highs in points (14) and rebounds (11) and Keyana Brown netted 13 as WCA(17-4) rolled to their 10th-straight conference victory.  At 10-0, the Eagles are the only unbeaten remaining in the Metro Conference.
